Making it to paradise
Trembling and covered in blood,Lay one wolf in the snow,
With no strength left,
He had no where to go,
As the wind gently blew,
His fur once ever so white,
His eyes bright as lightning,
Could see nothing in sight,
Slowly moving his head,
He once held up with pride,
His goal was to reach one place,
And that was Paradise,
Gathering all the last strength he had,
He pulled his trembling body up,
Blood flowed down him like rain,
The pain became too much,
He struggled to keep his trembling body up,
That was fading ever so fast,
He knew this little bit of energy,
Would not last,
So he pulled together all the energy he had left,
Eyes staring into the wide-open skies,
And in one sudden movement,
He howled to Paradise,
In his howl,
So very short yet sweet,
He told all his family and friends,
Of the fate he’d meet,
But no later than his howl stopped,
Did this wolf fall to the ground,
His legs could not handle,
His body’s trembling physique,
Laying in the snow,
All covered in blood,
Ears pointing at the sky,
This wolf desperately wanted to hear a reply,
But sadly for him,
Not one wolf had heard,
His last howl had been for nothing,
Which saddened him even more,
Tears began to form,
In the eyes that once shone every so bright,
But those eyes had rusted,
Along with their sight,
His tears of sadness,
Were carried far by the wind,
They reached the lands,
Where his life had begin,
His tears landed here,
Falling so gently to the ground,
They attracted many wolves,
These wolves were the spirits around,
They recognized this scent,
A dying wolf in despair,
Quickly they howled to him,
Not to fear, for they were there,
The dying wolf,
Heard of their calls,
His eyes widened,
As his heart rate slowly falls,
As his eyes slowly close in the breeze,
The spirit wolves that howl to him appear,
As he takes one final blink of the eyes,
He sees the family and friends he so desperately wanted to tell goodbye,
With his heart slowly fading away,
He prays to see them another day,
Very soon after,
His heart creeks to a halt,
His body covered in snow,
But his soul, the others wolves wish to know,
Then suddenly a howl is heard in the breeze,
The wolf that just passes away appears,
He stands before them restored in all of his pride,
They stare at each other, then look to the sky,
The beautiful white wolf,
Then leads them away,
To a place in the sky called Paradise,
A place where they all could stay.
